Good for her.
I always find it kind of funny how someone who doesn't normally wear hijab seems to find it so hard to figure out how to put it on - they usually do it really loose and just tied like that but then it becomes hard to manage because it is loose.
But hey, I remember when I first started to wear hijab it was a great mystery to me how girls would take the ends and tie it behind their necks, etc., until I gradually got used to it and figured out how to do things, figured out what materials worked better and so on.

Further to what otowi said, I used to wish there was a hijab spray to keep your hijab smooth and perfectly in place.
