What a great reference and wonderful book Safiyyah. Possibly one of the best books of the last ten years.
I have to say that this quote stuck with me the most from the Kite Runner was, 'For you a thousand times over...'Great book. I enjoyed a Thousand Splendid Suns more I think because it focused more on the plight of women.

I absolutely ADORED "A Thousand Splendid Suns" !!! It is a true testament to the power of sisterhood. I was also amazed that the author, a man, could write so powerfully from the point-of-view of women.
I watched the movie but didn't read the book, will give it a try! Inauguration was unique to say the least :)
I enjoyed the Kite Runner more. A Thousand Splendid Suns, I felt, was rehashing the same story from a female point of view.
